Shop Foreman

Role Overview

Operates shop machinery, supervises shop staff, responsible for part quality.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the owner. Has direct reports (shop production staff).

Responsibilities

  • • Operate shop machinery (cutting, drilling, edge banding) per programmed instructions
  • • Direct shop staff on daily task execution against the job queue
  • • Inspect parts against spec/tolerances before they move to the next stage
  • • Coordinate machine maintenance, troubleshoot downtime
  • • Enforce shop safety and housekeeping standards
  • • Report material, tooling, and scheduling issues to ownership

Requirements

  • • 3+ years operating CNC/production woodworking machinery in a shop environment
  • • Experience supervising shop staff
  • • Ability to read work orders/cut lists and inspect parts against spec
